Andraz Korosec is the CEO and founder of Slovenia-based Spectrum CNC, who use CAM Assist primarily to estimate machining time and turn around quotes faster. The company says it has reduced quoting time by around 60%, and seen about a 30% increase in customers as a result of that acceleration.
- Who are your customers, and what do you make for them?
Our primary customers are industries with manufacturing lines. So we make parts for manufacturing lines: aluminium parts, fasteners, grips, or something similar.
- What challenges do you have in your business today?
Fast quotations - that is the primary challenge. We need to be fast in that department. To send a fast quotation, it’s a money saver.
- When did you start using CAM Assist?
I started using CAM Assist about six months ago, I believe, give or take.
- How do you use it? How does CAM Assist help you, and how does it fit into your workflow?
I’m very happy with it because all I need is to calculate the manufacturing time, and that helps me a lot. We need quotes. They [the customers] send me the files, and I need quotes by the end of the day. It’s a timesaver in that way.
- What difference has CAM Assist made to your business? What are the benefits to you?
I would say about 60% [in time savings]. From the time before I started using CAM Assist, it was a long time before I finished the quote from the beginning to the end of the quote. Now I can finish the quote, send the quote, and then I can go to the workshop and do different things.
- Have you attracted more work because of the time savings of CAM Assist
Yes, of course. Yeah, that’s about a 30% increase currently, but we plan to do a lot more quotes.
- How do you plan to use CAM Assist in the future?
We plan to use it as a manufacturing accessory for tool programming, like it’s meant to be, of course!
- What do you think the impact of CAM Assist will be on manufacturing / machining?
I think it’s the right path for a small business like myself. It’s a timesaver.
