CloudNC - a manufacturing technology company - today announces the opening of its Shanghai office, a major step in its expansion in China.
The new office strengthens CloudNC’s local presence and gives Chinese manufacturers a new local route to access CAM Assist, the company’s AI solution for CNC programming.
CAM Assist uses AI to generate machining strategies and toolpaths faster than previously possible, helping programmers reduce repetitive CAM work, become more productive, and move from CAD model to machine-ready output more efficiently.
The announcement of the new China office will support CloudNC’s growth in China and builds on the growing international adoption of CAM Assist, which is now used by over 1,000 machine shops globally, including over 50 in China.

CAM Assist is designed to work within the software environments manufacturers already use. The solution helps programmers generate machining strategies and toolpaths using AI while keeping control over review, oversight and final approval, and is available across CAM platforms including Autodesk Fusion, Mastercam, Siemens NX, SolidCAM, GibbsCAM, and Creo.
Customers in China are already benefiting from CAM Assist. Shenzhen Ter Precision Manufacturing Co., based in Shenzhen, says it uses CAM Assist within existing workflows including Mastercam and NX, accelerating programming time for representative parts from several hours to around 30 minutes in total, including manual checking and adjustment, a time saving of around 70%.
